Health Initiatives for Safety and Stability in Africa (HIFASS) is a Nigerian non-profit organisation implementing health and development programmes and supporting health-service delivery, health information systems and programme operations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Zonal EMR & IT Support Assistant will provide onsite technical support across assigned health facilities. The position supports the effective operation of the Viva Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform and associated IT infrastructure, including computers, networks, hardware and physical security systems. The successful candidate will work closely with facility staff and the IT team to ensure systems remain functional and technical problems are resolved promptly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide onsite IT and EMR technical support to health facilities within the assigned zone.
- Support routine operation of the Viva EMR application and resolve user-related technical problems.
- Troubleshoot computers, printers, peripherals and related IT equipment.
- Conduct physical hardware repairs and routine preventive maintenance where required.
- Install, configure and maintain computers and approved software.
- Support local-area networks, internet connectivity and related network infrastructure.
- Identify connectivity problems and support restoration of disrupted services.
- Support maintenance and operation of physical security and related IT systems.
- Maintain records of incidents, maintenance and technical-support activities.
- Escalate complex technical problems that cannot be resolved at zonal level.
- Guide facility personnel on appropriate use of EMR and IT equipment.
- Support other IT assignments across facilities in the assigned zone.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in computer maintenance, hardware troubleshooting and network support.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common software and hardware problems.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records or health-information systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple supported facilities.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned zone.
