ABOUT WALK FOR LIFE NIGERIA

Walk For Life Nigeria is a national suicide-prevention movement hosted by the Dinma Amadi Mental Health Foundation in collaboration with Kedu Therapy and Serenity Support.

The 2026 edition, tagged “500 Voices of Hope,” will bring together 500 Nigerians for a road walk commemorating World Suicide Prevention Day. The initiative seeks to reduce stigma, promote early intervention, amplify the voices of suicide survivors and strengthen mental-health support systems.

Position: Walk For Life Nigeria Volunteer

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, remote and physical assignments

Duration: Project-based, from August to September 2026

JOB SUMMARY

The organisation is seeking committed and purpose-driven volunteers to support the planning and implementation of Walk For Life Nigeria 2026.

Volunteers will be assigned to functional teams according to their skills, experience, interests, availability and organisational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the planning and execution of Walk For Life Nigeria 2026.
  • Attend virtual and physical planning meetings where applicable.
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities professionally and responsibly.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers, team leaders and project coordinators.
  • Support participant registration and communication.
  • Assist with event logistics and venue preparation.
  • Support community mobilisation and public awareness.
  • Develop or distribute approved mental-health campaign content.
  • Support photography, videography and event documentation where assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit reports when required.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
  • Represent the values and mission of Walk For Life Nigeria.
  • Contribute practical ideas that improve the movement’s impact.
  • Support other responsibilities required for the successful implementation of the event.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Interest in mental health, suicide prevention or community impact.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn and accept guidance.
  • Respectful communication with people from different backgrounds.
  • Availability to support activities before and during the event.
  • Willingness to serve in the functional area where support is most needed.
  • Previous volunteer experience is an advantage but is not compulsory.
