Position Description & Requirements

PHC Initiative Africa is a Nigerian nonprofit organization headquartered in Kaduna and focused on strengthening primary healthcare through advocacy, research, capacity building, health promotion and community-focused interventions.

JOB SUMMARY:

PHC Initiative Africa is recruiting volunteer Technical Advisors to provide technical expertise and support across key public-health areas.

The available volunteer positions are:

1.Maternal, Neonatal & Child Health (MNCH) Advisor
2.Infectious Diseases Advisor
3.Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) Advisor
4.Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Advisor
5.Mental Health Advisor
6.Nutrition Advisor
7.Health Systems Advisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Provide technical input and subject-matter expertise in the selected health area to support PHC Initiative Africa's programmes, advocacy and capacity-building activities.
2.Contribute professional knowledge and practical recommendations to strengthen programme design, implementation and technical quality.
3.Support development or review of technical materials, health-related resources and programme documentation within the selected area of expertise.
4.Participate in technical discussions, knowledge-sharing activities and relevant organizational initiatives as required.
5.Support PHC Initiative Africa's broader primary-healthcare strengthening objectives through professional guidance and technical collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Applicants should have relevant professional or technical expertise in the specific area for which they are applying.
2.Applicants should select the technical-advisory area that best matches their professional background and experience.
3.Strong knowledge of the selected public-health subject area is expected.
4.Good communication, collaboration and knowledge-sharing skills are important.
5.A commitment to strengthening primary healthcare and improving health outcomes is desirable.
