JOB OVERVIEW
Voices and Evidence Frontiers is recruiting a Volunteer Research Assistant to support a feasibility study in Northeast Nigeria. This is a remote, flexible, project-based consultancy intended to give an early-career professional practical Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct telephone interviews and administer research tools ethically and accurately.
- Support remote data collection, data management, transcription and documentation.
- Check data for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter data and carry out basic cleaning using the tools provided.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow informed-consent and research-ethics requirements.
- Organise interview notes, transcripts and supporting research records.
- Complete other study tasks assigned by the research team within agreed deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Previous exposure to research, assessments, surveys, monitoring, evaluation or related work.
- Experience with telephone interviews or remote data collection is an advantage.
- Familiarity with digital data-collection, transcription, data-entry or data-management tools is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organisation and respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet flexible project deadlines.
CONTRACT AND SUPPORT
- Volunteer consultant arrangement; flexible and project based.
- Start as soon as possible.
- The role is unpaid, but reasonable airtime/data costs and approved transport expenses will be covered.
- Participants will gain practical experience, mentorship and possible consideration for future research assignments.
