JOB SUMMARY
The Training Officer coordinates practical agricultural, business and soft-skills training in Plateau State, adapting delivery to local value chains and participant needs.

Employment type: Two-year renewable contract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess training needs and adapt technical, business and soft-skills curricula to the state context.
- Schedule cohorts, venues, facilitators, mentors, participants and materials.
- Identify and support experienced local facilitators and agribusiness mentors.
- Oversee hands-on sessions at Youth Agribusiness Parks and designated centres.
- Deliver inclusive training for persons with disabilities and displaced youth using adapted or multilingual approaches.
- Support the Start Them Early Programme in secondary schools.
- Track attendance, completion and progress, maintain M&E records and distribute approved training materials and starter kits.
- Connect trained participants to mentorship, cooperatives, finance, markets and placement opportunities.
- Collect feedback, prepare reports and meet safeguarding, gender-inclusion and health-and-safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Agribusiness, Education or a related field with three to five years' experience in agricultural training, extension, vocational education or youth capacity building.
- Technical knowledge of poultry, aquaculture, horticulture, rice, maize or cassava value chains.
- Adult-learning, practical facilitation, coaching, mentoring and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong records, reporting, Microsoft Office and local-context knowledge; ability to travel frequently within the state.
