60 Decibels is a global, technology-enabled impact-measurement company that helps organisations understand the experiences and outcomes of their customers, beneficiaries, workers and communities.

The organisation conducts telephone surveys through a global network of Research Assistants operating across more than 80 countries.

About the Role

The Survey Enumerator, also known as a Research Assistant, will conduct structured telephone interviews with customers or beneficiaries of organisations working with 60 Decibels.

The Enumerator will work remotely with 60 Decibels Research Project Teams to collect high-quality information while following approved data-integrity, confidentiality and governance procedures.

Contracts are generally short-term and project-based. Performance may be assessed according to daily completed-survey targets.

Key Responsibilities

The Survey Enumerator will:

Participate in project-onboarding calls.

Study the context, objectives and requirements of each assigned research project.

Contact customers or beneficiaries using approved respondent lists.

Confirm that the correct respondent has been reached.

Explain the purpose and procedure of the survey.

Address respondents’ questions or concerns professionally.

Conduct structured telephone interviews.

Achieve approved daily survey-completion targets.

Report obstacles affecting the completion of interviews.

Enter respondents’ answers accurately into the 60 Decibels platform in English.

Record answers as provided by respondents without changing, paraphrasing or summarising their meaning.

Provide regular progress updates to the project team.

Review and respond to data-quality feedback.

Correct identified errors within the agreed timeline.

Protect respondents’ privacy and uphold data integrity.

Avoid data falsification, fabrication or the recording of nonexistent interviews.

Communicate with the project team through email, Slack and other approved platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should demonstrate:

Previous experience in data collection, research, market research or enumerator assignments, which is strongly preferred.

Previous customer-service or call-centre experience, which is desirable.

Experience in the social-impact sector, which will be an advantage.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Ability to build trust and rapport with respondents from different cultural backgrounds.

Strong attention to detail.

Clear verbal and written English.

Ability to translate respondents’ answers accurately into English during data entry.

Familiarity with digital data-collection applications, which will be an advantage.

Recruitment Process
