ORGANIZATION AND PROJECT BACKGROUND
Malaria Consortium is implementing household surveys to evaluate Nigeria’s 2026 insecticide-treated net campaign. The surveys include baseline, immediate post-campaign verification and one-month post-campaign assessments.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Survey Coordinator will lead and coordinate household survey teams in the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring that sampling, community entry, data collection and reporting follow the approved protocol.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead approximately four household-interview teams and coordinate their daily deployment.
- Support survey training, field practice and interpretation of the protocol and standard operating procedures.
- Sensitize community leaders and relevant local stakeholders before fieldwork.
- Support the identification and orientation of community mobilisers.
- Ensure wards, settlements and households are selected in accordance with approved sampling procedures.
- Coordinate household enumeration and preparation of sample lists.
- Monitor field progress, data quality, uploads and team performance.
- Resolve operational, community-entry and technical problems promptly.
- Arrange approved mobiliser payments and maintain supporting documentation.
- Submit timely field updates, incident reports and final survey documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Postgraduate qualification in health sciences or another relevant discipline.
- Approximately five to seven years of experience coordinating household surveys, public-health research or comparable field studies.
- Demonstrated experience supervising multiple field teams and maintaining data quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Hausa and Gbagyi language ability is an advantage for the Federal Capital Territory assignment.
