JOB OVERVIEW
Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium is recruiting a Storekeeper in Awka, Anambra State. The role supports the receipt, storage, control and issuance of medical supplies, food, spare parts, tools, equipment and other logistics materials according to MSF standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise materials and goods orders and dispatch to ensure rational use.
- Receive deliveries, compare them with cargo manifests and report discrepancies.
- Create and update stock cards immediately after receipt.
- Check cold boxes and cold-chain monitoring cards.
- Store items according to the approved system and standard operating procedures.
- Keep stock organised, identified, protected, clean, secure and accessible.
- Monitor store temperature and protect cold-chain and other sensitive items.
- Track batch numbers, expiry dates, packaging and special storage conditions.
- Prepare orders on time; pack, weigh and label freight with shipping number, destination, units, waybill, weight and transport mode.
- Conduct physical stock counts with the line manager.
- Monitor alarm thresholds, stock-outs and expiry dates.
- Restrict warehouse access to authorised personnel and secure doors and exits.
- Report damage, loss, attempted break-ins, theft or other incidents immediately.
- Support preparation of stock reports.
- Receive new items after approval from the technical department or requester.
- Safeguard MSF assets and report damaged or expired items.
- Maintain packing lists, delivery, reception, donation, loan and measuring-equipment records for audit.
- Keep the store clean, dry and at the required temperature and follow safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or degree/HND/BSc in Supply Chain Management, Stock Management, Purchasing and Supply or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in storekeeping, inventory or warehouse operations; previous NGO or MSF experience is an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of freight documentation, inventory, stock receipt, warehouse tools and cold-chain control.
- Good English is essential; Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba skills are useful.
- Strong accuracy, organisation, accountability and safety awareness.
