ABOUT RAHAMA
RAHAMA Girl Child & Women Empowerment Initiative works to support women, girls and communities through empowerment, advocacy, partnership and development programming.
JOB SUMMARY
The State Focal Person will provide dedicated representation and coordination support for RAHAMA in Borno State or the FCT. The position is a 12-month engagement with the possibility of renewal based on performance, organisational need and funding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent RAHAMA and promote its mandate in the assigned location.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies.
- Engage traditional rulers, religious leaders, community structures, NGOs and other partners.
- Identify partnership, collaboration and potential funding opportunities.
- Represent RAHAMA at coordination meetings, forums and stakeholder events.
- Support logistics and planning for RAHAMA activities and official visits.
- Maintain an up-to-date Stakeholder Engagement Log.
- Develop and regularly update a State Stakeholder Map.
- Monitor policy, development, funding and programming trends relevant to RAHAMA.
- Provide early warning of community risks, sensitivities and reputational concerns.
- Submit monthly and quarterly stakeholder-engagement reports.
- Comply with RAHAMA’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
INITIAL DELIVERABLES
Within the first 30 days, the focal person may be expected to produce an inception note, comprehensive state stakeholder map, initial Stakeholder Engagement Log and a brief on the policy, funding and programming landscape.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; relevant HND with equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Previous experience in advocacy, community engagement, civil society or government liaison is preferred.
- Applicant must be based in Borno or Abuja and understand the local social, political and administrative environment.
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
- Working English plus relevant local-language fluency.
- High integrity, confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Relevant stakeholder-management or advocacy training is an advantage.
