Position Description & Requirements
ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
Propcom+, implemented by Palladium, invites applications from state-based Monitoring and Research Assistants for call-down consultancy assignments. Up to two assistants may be engaged per state in Jigawa, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe, Oyo and Ekiti. The anticipated assignment period is 16 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, with a maximum of 20 working days per month depending on programme needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review relevant programme, intervention and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning documents.
- Participate in required training, orientation and assignment briefings.
- Conduct field visits for data validation, verification, spot checks and monitoring of programme activities.
- Collect quantitative and qualitative survey data using the tools and protocols supplied.
- Obtain and document market-price and other locally relevant information when requested.
- Attend programme events and provide independent monitoring observations.
- Maintain complete, accurate and traceable records and means of verification.
- Submit timely activity reports and consolidated monthly reports in the required format.
- Follow data-quality, confidentiality, safeguarding, ethics and security instructions throughout each assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESOURCES
- Degree in agriculture, social sciences or a related field.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, and proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English and ability to communicate in the relevant local language.
- Must own a functional laptop and an Android smartphone suitable for assignment work.
- Residence in, or strong operational access to, the state applied for must be evidenced as requested.
