ABOUT IITA

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is a not-for-profit agricultural research-for-development organisation working to reduce hunger, poverty and environmental degradation in Africa.

JOB SUMMARY

The officer will provide day-to-day administrative, logistics, procurement and operational support for programme implementation in Oyo State.

  • Contract: Two-year renewable contract
  • Location: Oyo State
  • Applicants: Suitable Nigerian nationals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan logistics for training sessions, workshops, sensitisation events and agribusiness-park activities.
  • Manage office supplies, files, assets, utilities and local service providers.
  • Coordinate approved low-value procurement and consolidate larger procurement requests.
  • Maintain inventory and distribution records for seeds, fertiliser, tools, feeds, fingerlings and other programme materials.
  • Supervise drivers and coordinate vehicle use, fuel, maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Administer petty cash and submit timely expenditure retirements.
  • Support state-level onboarding, attendance, staff travel and welfare arrangements.
  • Liaise with government offices, community leaders and facility managers.
  • Support programme monitoring and donor visits.
  • Keep complete records for audit and reporting and prepare logistics reports.
  • Enforce safeguarding, security, health and safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Two to four years’ administrative and logistics experience, preferably in a development, NGO or research setting.
  • Knowledge of Oyo State institutions and communities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office, planning, documentation and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage several priorities accurately and travel within the state.
  • High integrity, professionalism and service orientation.
