Software Quality Assurance & Testing Intern / Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Intern/Assistant will support software-quality processes across the organisation. The successful candidate will test software products, identify defects, monitor compliance with established quality standards and help improve QA systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform software testing and troubleshooting.
• Draft, review and update Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
• Interpret applicable QA standards and procedures.
• Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of software products.
• Collect and compile information on current quality standards.
• Analyse quality information to identify areas requiring improvement.
• Investigate client complaints and cases of non-conformance.
• Identify gaps and improvement opportunities within the Quality System.
• Identify QA-related staff training needs and interventions.
• Analyse software and systems to reduce risk and prevent recurring defects.
• Detect bugs and errors and track them through tools such as Jira.
• Develop test cases, test templates and test-plan documents.
• Conduct functional, unit, API, load and other relevant testing.
• Support automated-testing activities where applicable.
• Document test results clearly and follow up on defect resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management Technology, Statistics or a closely related field.
• At least six months’ experience testing websites and/or mobile applications.
• Knowledge of functional, unit, load and API testing.
• Understanding of automated-testing tools and processes.
• Experience preparing test plans or test strategies.
• Ability to use bug-tracking systems.
• Data-analysis skills.
• Python knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must reside in Abuja.
