Malaria Consortium works to improve health outcomes through evidence-based malaria and communicable-disease programmes across Africa and Asia.
JOB SUMMARY
The Social and Behavior Change Consultant will provide technical support for community engagement, advocacy, communication and demand-creation activities associated with Malaria Consortium’s SARMAAN II programme in Gombe State.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and support implementation of state-level SBC activities.
- Adapt behaviour-change and communication materials to the local context.
- Support advocacy and engagement with community leaders and key stakeholders.
- Support state and LGA campaign flag-off activities.
- Identify influential stakeholders and communication channels.
- Monitor community-engagement and SBC activities using approved tools.
- Prepare weekly updates and campaign reports.
- Document challenges, achievements and recommendations.
- Complete required SBC preparedness and monitoring templates.
- Submit a detailed consultancy report following campaign activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- First degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- At least three years of post-graduation experience.
- Previous experience with AZM, ITN, SMC, polio or similar public-health campaigns.
- Experience supporting behaviour-change campaigns.
- Knowledge of malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
- Strong training, supervisory, technical-writing and presentation skills.
- Good Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to work effectively with state and community stakeholders.
