ORGANIZATION AND PROGRAMME BACKGROUND
Resolve to Save Lives is a global public-health nonprofit working with governments and partners to prevent major health threats. This consultancy supports work to reduce harmful lead exposure in Nigeria.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Technical Advisor will provide high-level technical leadership and advisory support for lead-exposure reduction. The consultant will work with government and partners to strengthen evidence, policy, programme design and implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert technical guidance on lead exposure, environmental health and risk reduction.
- Support development and implementation of national or subnational strategies, policies and technical plans.
- Advise government counterparts and implementing partners on evidence-based interventions.
- Review relevant surveillance, exposure, environmental and programme data.
- Translate technical evidence into practical recommendations, briefs and decision-support materials.
- Support stakeholder consultations, technical working groups and coordination meetings.
- Develop or review guidance, protocols, training materials and implementation tools.
- Strengthen the capacity of government and partner personnel.
- Monitor technical progress, identify implementation constraints and recommend corrective action.
- Prepare clear reports, presentations and other deliverables for national and global audiences.
- Coordinate closely with Resolve to Save Lives technical and country teams.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree in environmental health, public health, epidemiology, toxicology, environmental science, medicine or another relevant discipline.
- At least ten years of relevant environmental-health or public-health experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in lead exposure, heavy metals, environmental risk or a closely related technical area.
- Experience advising government or leading complex technical programmes.
- Strong analytical, policy and technical-writing capability.
