JOB OVERVIEW
Open Health Foundation is seeking an experienced Senior Grant and Partnership Officer in Abuja to lead grant development, fundraising, donor engagement and strategic partnerships. The officer will identify and secure funding opportunities, produce strong proposals and build sustainable relationships that advance the Foundation’s health and development objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant development and fundraising
- Research funding opportunities from foundations, government, development agencies, corporations and international donors.
- Monitor donor priorities, portals and calls for proposals.
- Lead concept notes, expressions of interest, grant proposals, budgets and supporting documents.
- Coordinate proposal development with programmes, finance, M&E and management teams.
- Maintain the grants pipeline, funding calendar and donor database and ensure on-time submissions.
Partnerships and donor engagement
- Identify and maintain relationships with donors, NGOs, government, private-sector organisations and foundations.
- Develop partnership concepts, collaboration frameworks and MoUs.
- Represent the Foundation at meetings, conferences, workshops and networking events.
- Prepare donor updates, presentations, briefing notes and partnership communications.
- Coordinate donor meetings, follow up actions and support donor retention.
Grant management and strategy
- Track active grants, milestones, budgets, deliverables and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate donor reports, maintain grant files and flag risks or delays.
- Support grant close-out and lessons-learned processes.
- Contribute to fundraising strategy, sector research, programme expansion and organisational capability materials.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Communications or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
- At least five years of relevant experience in grants, fundraising, partnerships, business development or donor relations.
- Demonstrated experience writing successful grant proposals and securing funding.
- NGO, nonprofit, development-agency or health-sector experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the donor landscape and nonprofit compliance.
SKILLS
Excellent proposal writing, research, analysis, communication, relationship management, negotiation, networking, time management and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant grant or project-management tools. High professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
