Senior Digital Producer – Nigeria

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Digital Producer will lead design and production of a digital strategy and content stream for a multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication programme focused on reproductive health and child spacing in northern Nigeria.

The role will oversee production of digital, social-media and interactive content and ensure digital storytelling is integrated with radio and other programme channels.

Contract duration: 2 years.

Reports to: Head of Production and Training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of digital content.

• Integrate broadcast and digital storytelling.

• Lead digital content strategy and platform optimisation.

• Use audience insight and analytics to improve engagement and behavioural impact.

• Develop a cohesive multi-platform narrative.

• Ensure storytelling is consistent across digital, radio and community channels.

• Supervise the Digital Producer and Assistant Producer – Multimedia.

• Provide technical and editorial oversight.

• Collaborate with research, strategy and SBCC teams.

• Translate behaviour-change objectives into engaging digital content.

• Direct studio and field recording activities.

• Coordinate production logistics and resources.

• Monitor digital-content performance.

• Recommend improvements based on audience engagement and analytics.

• Maintain effective digital-production workflows.

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data-protection and editorial requirements.

• Ensure all digital content complies with BBC editorial standards.

• Carry out other programme-production responsibilities when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrable experience producing engaging content across digital platforms.

• Experience leading digital or multimedia production teams.

• Experience providing editorial oversight.

• Strong understanding of Nigeria’s social-media environment.

• Ability to identify appropriate platforms for different audience segments.

• Strong creative-writing ability in English and Hausa.

• Ability to develop content suitable for diverse audiences.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience using digital insights and analytics.

• Working knowledge of multimedia-production tools and workflows.

• Strong experience producing and publishing social-media content.

• Strong editorial judgement.

• Understanding of BBC editorial values and standards.

• Right to work in Nigeria required.
