Position Description & Requirements
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Auditor will lead field-compliance audits and investigations to identify fraud, programme irregularities, control weaknesses and violations of organisational procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and conduct risk-based field audits across assigned states.
- Investigate suspected fraud, misconduct and programme manipulation.
- Validate beneficiary, clinic, staff and transaction information.
- Review supporting evidence, audit documentation and investigation reports.
- Interview staff, beneficiaries, vendors and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Coach and supervise auditors conducting field-verification activities.
- Monitor implementation of agreed audit recommendations.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for senior management.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive investigation records.
- Travel regularly to clinics, communities and programme locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or another relevant field.
- Three to five years of experience in audit, compliance, investigation or fraud-risk management.
- Experience conducting field-based audits or investigations.
- Professional audit, accounting or fraud-examination certification is an advantage.
- Strong report-writing, interviewing and evidence-analysis skills.
- Ability to speak Hausa is preferred.
- Willingness to spend several days each week conducting fieldwork.
