Position Description & Requirements

OVERVIEW

UNICEF Nigeria is recruiting a Security Manager at P-4 level to advise country leadership and manage security activities that support staff, programmes and operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead security risk management and planning for UNICEF Nigeria.
  • Advise the Representative and country management on security duties and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate security activities with UNDSS, UN agencies, funds and programmes, and INGO partners.
  • Contribute to security risk assessments, measures and country security plans.
  • Manage security services, information analysis and compliance monitoring.
  • Build security networks and partnerships.
  • Strengthen security knowledge management, training and organisational capacity.
  • Support programme delivery through effective risk analysis and mitigation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced university degree.
  • At least eight years of professional experience in security risk management and/or security analysis.
  • Demonstrated international security-management experience in emergency or conflict contexts.
  • Understanding of the United Nations Security Management System.
  • Skills in security management, analysis, coordination, reporting and training.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Interagency coordination, INGO partnership and humanitarian-access experience are assets.
