Position Description & Requirements

New Incentives / All Babies Are Equal Initiative is recruiting a Safety & Security Officer for Katsina State, specifically the Funtua Zone.

The Safety & Security Officer will support the organisation by monitoring and managing safety and security risks across operational locations. The role will involve security assessments, compliance with security procedures, incident reporting and stakeholder engagement to obtain timely security updates for safe programme implementation.

Key responsibilities include communicating regularly with Field Managers and Field Officers, contacting high and medium-risk clinics for security updates, confirming security advisories, documenting special security reports, engaging community gatekeepers and security networks, reviewing security incidents, drafting security reports, conducting security assessments of clinics, LGAs, hotels, training venues and vendors, shadowing Field Officers to clinics, supporting security training and assisting during incident management.

Required qualifications include a B.Sc or equivalent in Social Sciences or a related discipline, at least 2 years of experience in a similar NGO or humanitarian security role, strong communication and report-writing skills in English and Hausa, willingness to reside in any LGA within Funtua Zone, good organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, strong attention to detail, ability to conduct context analysis and security assessments, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, smartphones and ICT tools.
