ABOUT JHPIEGO
Jhpiego is an international nonprofit health organisation affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. It works with governments and partners to improve the quality of health services and strengthen the capacity of health workers and health systems.
JOB SUMMARY
The Routine Immunization Trainer will design and deliver competency-based immunization training across agreed locations and dates. The trainer will prepare the methodology and materials, facilitate sessions, assess participant learning and produce the datasets and reports required by Jhpiego.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and finalise the training agenda, methodology and learning materials with the project team.
- Deliver routine-immunization training in the locations and on the dates agreed with Jhpiego.
- Use adult-learning and competency-based approaches appropriate for health workers.
- Prepare and administer pre-tests, post-tests and practical skills assessments.
- Analyse participant results and document competency scores and learning progress.
- Develop and use slides, agendas, case studies, exercises and other training materials.
- Work collaboratively with government health institutions, programme teams and development partners.
- Interpret training data and provide clear recommendations for follow-up or performance improvement.
- Submit all materials in editable electronic formats.
- Produce a final training report that meets Jhpiego documentation standards.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
- Approved agenda, methodology and training package.
- Delivery of the agreed immunization training.
- Pre-test and post-test datasets with analysis.
- Skills-assessment results with competency scoring.
- Editable training slides, agendas and case studies.
- Final training report.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a child-health-related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Certified Routine Immunization Trainer.
- At least five years of experience conducting immunization training and capacity-building activities.
- Demonstrated ability to apply adult-learning and competency-based training methods.
- Experience collaborating with government health institutions and development partners.
- Strong report-writing, communication and data-interpretation skills.
