Position Description & Requirements

Terre des hommes Foundation is recruiting a consultant to conduct an access-to-justice assessment for gender-based violence survivors in Benue State, including communities and displacement sites in Makurdi and Guma.

Assignment:

  • Design and conduct a protection-sensitive assessment using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Examine formal and informal justice pathways available to GBV survivors.
  • Consult survivors, service providers, community stakeholders and relevant authorities while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Analyse barriers, risks, gaps and opportunities affecting access to justice.
  • Produce an evidence-based report with practical programme and advocacy recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Law, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–7 years of relevant research or assessment experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in GBV, access to justice, protection and ethical research.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

Duration: Approximately three months.
