ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

ROLE PURPOSE
The Regional Quality Advisor is a member of the Clinical Services Team and will ensure high-quality clinical standards across MSI Nigeria service-delivery channels, including clinics, MS Ladies, public-sector facilities and outreach services in the assigned region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct competency assessments for doctors and nurses providing MSI services, including tubal ligation and vasectomy.
- Supervise the setup and rollout of centres and support delivery of core and non-core clinical services in line with standard operating procedures.
- Investigate minor and major clinical incidents and prepare reports using MSI's incident-reporting tools.
- Contribute to workshops, conferences and reviews of clinical standards and protocols.
- Assess needs at MSI clinical service-delivery sites.
- Prepare materials and logistics for quality-assurance activities and clinical training.
- Apply MSI quality technical-assistance tools, including centre, Star Scan and QTA checklists.
- Maintain a current database of clinicians and locums and track their competencies.
- Ensure medical products in the regional store are stored and used according to required standards.
- Conduct regular internal quality technical-assistance visits and track progress across service-delivery points.
- Advise regional supervisors on quality-assurance processes.
- Coordinate Clinical Training Officers and support the delivery of clinical training to approved standards.
- Address challenges and complaints arising from clinical training.
- Identify training needs during monitoring visits and arrange appropriate training.
- Conduct competency assessments for clinicians under the post holder's supervision.
- Track professional certificates and licences to ensure they remain current.
- Maintain records of training, orientation, supervision, meetings, continuing medical education and activity reports.
- Follow up complaints concerning MSI services and make recommendations.
- Travel for at least 60% of working time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Medicine and Surgery, or Nursing/Midwifery with at least a BSc or MPH.
- At least five years of post-graduation experience.
- Master's degree in Public Health or International Health is an advantage.
- Senior nurses or midwives should have training experience in sexual and reproductive healthcare delivery.
- Evidence of good standing with a recognized clinical professional body.
- Evidence of a basic managerial qualification.
- Experience in sexual and reproductive health is essential.
- Experience implementing quality-assurance or quality-improvement projects.
- NGO experience is desirable.
