JOB SUMMARY

The Public Health Research & Engagement Officer will combine research responsibilities with stakeholder engagement, supporting projects at the intersection of public health, information technology and government health systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct research relevant to ongoing public-health projects.
• Plan and conduct research into public-health information technology.
• Examine how ICT can be used to improve public-health outcomes.
• Research the use of digital-health tools within Nigerian ministries, departments and agencies.
• Conduct literature reviews.
• Collect information through interviews and other research methods.
• Analyse research data and evidence.
• Lead, support or contribute to development of research papers.
• Support preparation of research publications.
• Provide research assistance across programme teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
• Support external engagement and communication activities.
• Present research findings clearly to relevant audiences.
• Develop engagement approaches appropriate to government and project stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in Public Health.
• Three to five years’ experience working with stakeholders or clients, including sensitive issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to present information clearly and produce high-quality reports.
• Demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder-relations strategies.
• Good judgement when handling sensitive stakeholder matters.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

Fully onsite in Abuja.
