Project Supervisor – Three Positions

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is a not-for-profit agricultural research-for-development organisation working to improve food security and livelihoods across Africa.

JOB SUMMARY

IITA is recruiting three Project Supervisors to coordinate work orders, construction and facilities-related assignments and ensure that projects meet approved quality, cost, schedule and safety requirements.

• Number of positions: Three
• Contract: Three-year renewable contract
• Location: Ibadan, Oyo State
• Applicants: Suitable Nigerian nationals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review work orders and service requests to determine scope, priorities and resources.
• Coordinate FMS units, contractors and stakeholders during project execution.
• Develop work plans, schedules and cost estimates.
• Monitor delivery against time, budget and quality requirements.
• Resolve technical, operational and administrative implementation issues.
• Ensure compliance with approved designs, drawings, specifications and safety standards.
• Apply materials-standardisation procedures for consistency and cost effectiveness.
• Conduct site inspections and verify progress against approved plans.
• Prepare reports on requests, project status, completed works and outstanding issues.
• Maintain complete project records and support continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• HND or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology or a related discipline.
• At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
• Facilities management, corporate services, construction-project management, operations coordination, research-institute or international-organisation experience is desirable.
• Technical knowledge of civil and structural engineering and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong organisation, time management, communication and supervisory skills.
