Position Description & Requirements

JOB OVERVIEW

WEWE is recruiting a Project Coordinator to provide strategic and technical leadership for the HORTISUN agricultural development project in Abuja/Kaduna. The coordinator will be accountable for implementation quality, workplans, budgets, donor compliance, stakeholder coordination, staffing and results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall strategic, technical and operational leadership.
  • Prepare annual workplans, budgets and procurement plans.
  • Supervise field implementation and ensure delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee financial management, procurement and compliance with AfDB/FAPA and WEWE requirements.
  • Coordinate MSMEs, farmer groups, government institutions and implementation partners.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports, management updates and mission briefs.
  • Convene Tomato Community of Practice and steering-committee meetings and follow up decisions.
  • Represent HORTISUN at donor, government, agricultural and value-chain forums.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor and assess project staff.
  • Ensure gender equality, youth inclusion, safeguarding and accountability are integrated into implementation.
  • Lead project visibility, learning and knowledge-product development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Project Management or a related field.
  • At least seven years of experience managing donor-funded agricultural development projects.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, stakeholder-management, communication, report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with MSMEs, the private sector and public institutions.
  • Familiarity with AfDB or other multilateral-donor procedures is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English; Hausa is preferred.

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Approved annual workplans, budgets and procurement plans.
  • Quarterly and annual progress reports.
  • Donor-mission and supervision reports.
  • Timely implementation decisions and documented stakeholder coordination.
