Action Against Hunger implements humanitarian and development programmes across Nigeria, including health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods and social protection interventions.
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator will lead implementation of Action Against Hunger projects covering Katsina and Borno States. The position is responsible for programme planning, implementation quality, budget oversight, team leadership, monitoring, reporting, compliance and coordination with government, donors, UN agencies and humanitarian partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead planning, implementation and monitoring of assigned projects against approved proposals, work plans and donor requirements.
- Develop and regularly update implementation, procurement, spending and activity plans.
- Track programme targets, indicators, implementation progress and emerging bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with MEAL, finance, logistics, HR, security and technical teams.
- Manage project budgets, review expenditure and burn rates and address under- or over-spending.
- Supervise project staff, support performance management, coaching, induction and capacity development.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of internal and donor reports.
- Ensure community feedback and complaints mechanisms are functioning effectively.
- Represent ACF with government authorities, donors, UN agencies, NGOs and coordination structures.
- Ensure compliance with donor rules, safeguarding, protection, accountability and fraud-prevention standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Project Management, International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies or a related field.
- At least five years of experience managing humanitarian or development projects.
- Experience coordinating multi-sector programmes in complex humanitarian environments.
- Strong project-cycle management, budgeting, planning and reporting skills.
- Experience managing teams and donor-funded projects.
- Strong government, donor and humanitarian stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Knowledge of humanitarian standards including CHS and Sphere.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Previous experience in Northeast or Northwest Nigeria, particularly Borno or Katsina, is an advantage.
