RIO Foundation is recruiting a Programs Officer to support the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of its programmes and projects.
The position is a full-time role reporting directly to the Executive Director. The initial contract duration is one year and may be renewed. Salary will be negotiated based on experience and the Foundation’s commitment to internal equity.
About RIO Foundation
Rosemary Ihuoma Okereke Foundation, also known as RIO Foundation, is a Nigerian non-profit organisation founded in 2020. The organisation works to empower individuals and communities through literacy initiatives, health programmes and other community-development interventions.
Role Purpose
The Programs Officer will ensure that RIO Foundation’s projects are properly planned, implemented, monitored and documented. The officer will ensure that activities are delivered on time, within the approved scope and budget and in line with organisational objectives, donor requirements and community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning and implementation of programmes and projects.
- Develop detailed project work plans, budgets, timelines and activity schedules.
- Coordinate programme and field activities.
- Liaise with beneficiaries, community stakeholders, implementing partners and other relevant actors.
- Monitor programme performance using approved indicators, monitoring tools and reporting systems.
- Collect, analyse and document programme data.
- Document success stories, programme achievements and lessons learned.
- Prepare periodic narrative and financial reports for management and donors.
- Ensure that programme activities comply with donor guidelines, organisational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify programme implementation risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support the development of funding proposals and concept notes when required.
- Organise trainings, workshops, community outreach activities and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain accurate programme records and supporting documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration or a related field.
- Between two and five years of experience in programme or project coordination within an NGO or development organisation.
- Strong programme and project-management skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience working on donor-funded projects will be an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
