Position Description & Requirements

RIO Foundation is recruiting a Programs Intern to provide administrative and operational support to its Programs Team.

The internship is designed to provide practical experience in NGO programme implementation, monitoring, reporting, research, documentation and community engagement.

The successful applicant will report to the Programs Officer. The internship duration is between three and twelve months.

About RIO Foundation

Rosemary Ihuoma Okereke Foundation, also known as RIO Foundation, is a Nigerian non-profit organisation established in 2020. The organisation empowers individuals and communities through literacy initiatives, health programmes and community-development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Programs Team in planning and implementing programme activities.
  • Support data collection, data entry and basic data analysis for ongoing projects.
  • Assist in preparing programme reports, presentations and supporting documentation.
  • Support the organisation of trainings, workshops, meetings and community events.
  • Conduct basic research and compile background information for funding proposals and programme activities.
  • Support field visits and engagement with programme beneficiaries where required.
  • Perform general administrative duties for the Programs Team.
  • Maintain programme files, activity records and supporting documents.
  • Support the documentation of programme achievements and success stories.
  • Carry out other programme-support duties assigned by the Programs Officer.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate or recent graduate in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Education or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the NGO, non-profit or development sector.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
