Position Description & Requirements

OVERVIEW

LEAP Africa is recruiting a Programmes Manager to design, manage and deliver high-impact youth-focused programmes aligned with the organisation's strategic goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Director of Programmes and Programmes Committee to plan and implement LEAP Africa's programmes.
  • Coordinate programme design, conceptualisation, curriculum development and development-focused products and services.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the Programmes Unit.
  • Track programme scope, budgets, timelines and deliverables and promote transparent use of funds.
  • Serve as a trainer, facilitator and resource person for local and international engagements.
  • Prepare, manage and control programme budgets.
  • Lead and mentor programme staff and monitor achievement of workplans and objectives.
  • Develop high-quality donor proposals with accurate budgets and coherent programme designs.
  • Cultivate relationships with local and international partners.
  • Coordinate annual conferences and flagship programmes.
  • Manage stakeholders, alumni sustainability and programme advocacy materials.
  • Contribute to thought-leadership products and support organisational fundraising.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in any field is an added advantage.
  • Ten years of strong programme-related experience.
  • Five years of hands-on experience in youth leadership development.
  • Experience in programme design and delivery, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, facilitation, proposal-development and budgeting ability.
