ORGANIZATION AND ROLE BACKGROUND
UNICEF protects children’s rights and supports health, education, protection and resilience programmes. The Programme Manager will serve as Resilience Lead for the Maiduguri Field Office, coordinating resilience and durable-solutions programming in Northeast Nigeria.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate resilience and durable-solutions projects and joint initiatives.
- Lead project coordination, implementation oversight and programme administration.
- Monitor results, risks, budgets and delivery against approved plans.
- Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Represent UNICEF in relevant coordination and partnership forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with government, UN agencies, donors, civil society and implementing partners.
- Support partnership communication and donor reporting.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large multi-sector programmes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced university degree in International Development, International Relations, Peacebuilding, Political Science, Social Sciences or a related field.
- At least eight years of international-level experience in programme or project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration.
- Emergency or humanitarian experience is essential.
- Resilience, humanitarian-development-peace nexus, durable-solutions or joint-UN programme-management experience is highly desirable.
- Experience managing large budgets, multidisciplinary teams and donor reports.
- Fluency in English. Another UN language or a relevant local language is an asset.
