JOB DETAILS

Contract Type: Six-month internship

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Working Hours: 20 hours per week

Reporting Line: Senior Programme Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Grants and Fundraising Intern will support funding research, grant writing, proposal development, donor communication and partnership-building activities.

The intern will help identify suitable funding opportunities and prepare the documentation required to support timely, competitive applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Research

  • Research grants that align with SustyVibes’ mission and programmes.
  • Review donor priorities, eligibility conditions and application requirements.
  • Maintain an updated funding-opportunity database.
  • Record application deadlines and submission requirements.
  • Monitor relevant donor announcements and calls for proposals.
  • Share suitable opportunities with the programme team.

Proposal Development

  • Support the preparation of grant proposals and applications.
  • Ensure applications respond to donor guidelines.
  • Collect project descriptions, budgets and supporting documentation.
  • Work with team members to obtain accurate programme information.
  • Support preparation of concept notes and expressions of interest.
  • Review application documents for completeness.
  • Support timely submission of proposals.

Project Development

  • Contribute to the design of new projects.
  • Assist with defining objectives, activities, outputs and timelines.
  • Conduct background research supporting programme design.
  • Compile evidence and data for proposals.
  • Assist with developing logical and practical programme approaches.
  • Support documentation of project ideas.

Donor Relations and Partnerships

  • Support communication with existing donors.
  • Help prepare project updates and outcome information.
  • Maintain organised donor and partner records.
  • Research potential implementation and funding partners.
  • Support joint grant applications and collaborative initiatives.
  • Attend relevant webinars, donor briefings and networking sessions.
  • Represent SustyVibes professionally during approved engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Academic background in Humanities, Social Sciences or another relevant discipline.
  • Academic or practical exposure to grant writing, grant management, programme management or M&E.
  • Experience writing or editing articles, reports, presentations or similar documents.
  • Knowledge of donor and institutional funding mechanisms is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
