Position Description & Requirements

UNOPS is recruiting a Programme Coordinator to support the implementation of the Education Outcomes Fund’s Learning and Education Access Fund programme in Lagos State.

The programme seeks to enrol and retain out-of-school children, improve learning environments and strengthen government education systems through outcomes-based financing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support relationships with federal and state government institutions, donors and implementing partners.
  • Coordinate programme activities and monitor implementation against workplans and milestones.
  • Conduct site visits and document implementation, safeguarding and programme-quality findings.
  • Coordinate data submission, results verification, fieldwork and payment processes.
  • Identify partner challenges and support timely resolution or escalation.
  • Prepare governance meetings, programme updates and stakeholder engagements.
  • Support cost verification, financial checks, travel and procurement processes.
  • Contribute to communication, evidence-generation and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Monitor risks and support data-driven programme decisions.

Requirements:

  • Secondary-school education with at least seven years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in project management or programme implementation, preferably within Nigeria’s education or development sector.
  • Experience managing government, donor and implementing-partner relationships.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Intermediate Yoruba is desirable.
  • Results-based financing or outcomes-fund experience is an advantage.

Contract:

  • LICA 7/ICS 07.
  • Ongoing, subject to organisational requirements, funding and satisfactory performance.
  • Applications must be submitted before the stated UNOPS deadline.
