JOB DESCRIPTION SNIPPET:

NFDP is seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee procurement processes, track goods and services throughout the procurement cycle, ensure competitive purchasing and support programme teams with procurement and logistics guidance.

ABOUT NFDP:

New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) is a Nigerian non-governmental organization supporting people displaced by insurgency and crisis.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Procurement Officer will oversee procurement processes, ensure compliance with NFDP and donor procedures, manage vendor relationships and provide procurement support and mentoring to programme teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Review and manage procurement processes from requisition through completion in line with NFDP policies, donor requirements and applicable Nigerian regulations.
2.Track procurement of goods and services throughout the procurement cycle and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
3.Ensure adequate competition, transparency and value for money in procurement processes.
4.Work with local, national and international vendors while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
5.Implement and maintain procurement and fleet management policies, systems and procedures.
6.Provide procurement mentoring and technical support to project staff to strengthen compliance and efficient programme implementation.
7.Monitor supplier performance and support effective vendor management.
8.Promote compliance, ethics and integrity throughout procurement activities.
9.Support logistics and supply-chain activities as assigned.
10.Promote PSEA, safeguarding and ethical standards among staff, vendors and beneficiaries.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.OND, HND, Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
2.Relevant experience in procurement and logistics.
3.Experience managing procurement and data management within an international organization is an advantage.
4.Knowledge of operational logistics and supply-chain policies and procedures.
5.Good command of English. Hausa and Kanuri language skills are an advantage.
6.Strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
7.Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
8.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
9.Training and capacity-building experience is an advantage.
