Save the Children is recruiting a Policy, Advocacy and Campaign Officer for its Nigeria Country Office in Borno. The role is a national fixed-term position under the Advocacy, Campaigns and Policy team.
The officer will support the implementation of policy, advocacy, campaign and stakeholder engagement activities in Borno Area Office. The role will contribute to child rights advocacy, community engagement, child participation, policy review and government relations in support of Save the Children’s humanitarian and development programming.
Key responsibilities include leading engagement with government ministries, agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders; supporting advocacy for access to quality health, nutrition, food security, education and child protection services; supporting child protection laws and policies; organising advocacy meetings and community dialogues; supporting media and communication activities; producing human-interest stories and campaign materials; mobilising communities, schools, youth groups and women groups; promoting child participation; preparing concept notes, reports and advocacy materials; and supporting programme documentation and learning.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, Political Science or a related field. Applicants should have at least 3 years post-NYSC experience in policy, advocacy, campaigns, community mobilisation, stakeholder engagement or related work. The ideal candidate should be an indigene of Borno State with fluency in Kanuri, Hausa and English, strong knowledge of the local context, established stakeholder networks and strong documentation skills.
