Position Description & Requirements
JOB SUMMARY
Grade 5. The Officer leads state-level planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of nutrition interventions and supports government systems to deliver high-quality services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop state workplans, activity budgets and implementation schedules with programme and government teams.
- Coordinate with state and LGA authorities on vitamin A supplementation and other nutrition priorities.
- Lead preparation and implementation of VAS campaigns, including MNCHW microplanning, commodity readiness, training, social mobilisation and post-campaign review.
- Support infant and young child feeding, community management of acute malnutrition, food fortification, food security and related interventions as assigned.
- Build capacity of health workers, community personnel and government counterparts through training, coaching and supportive supervision.
- Develop or adapt social and behaviour change communication approaches and materials.
- Monitor activities, indicators, coverage, quality and expenditure and take corrective action when gaps arise.
- Ensure timely data submission, maintain programme databases and contribute to post-event coverage surveys and evaluations.
- Prepare high-quality activity, monthly, donor and government reports.
- Convene or participate in technical meetings and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
- Support research, learning and continuous quality improvement.
- Supervise and develop assigned associate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science and Dietetics, Public Health or a related field.
- At least four years of relevant nutrition or public-health programme experience.
- Experience working with government systems and community-based programmes.
- Demonstrated ability in programme implementation, monitoring, data management and report writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and strong English communication skills.
- A Master’s degree, VAS/MCH/IYCF experience, government experience, local-language ability, donor-funded programme experience or skills in SPSS, STATA or Power BI are advantages.

- Work collaboratively with government counterparts, colleagues, partners and communities and report risks or irregularities promptly.
