Nutrition Officer (NO-2), Temporary Appointment, #00138300

JOB SUMMARY

UNICEF Nigeria is recruiting a Nutrition Officer at NO-2 level for a temporary appointment in Kano. The officer will support high-impact nutrition interventions, social and behaviour-change activities and food-system programming that improve maternal, infant and young-child nutrition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support nutrition programme development, planning and implementation.
• Provide technical support for nutrition prevention and treatment services.
• Contribute to implementation of the Nutrition SBC Strategy and food-system interventions.
• Support programme management, monitoring and quality assurance.
• Track grants and organizational resources in line with UNICEF and donor requirements.
• Strengthen partnerships, advocacy, knowledge management and capacity building.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• First-level university degree in food science and technology, nutrition, food systems, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global or international health and nutrition, health sciences or a relevant technical field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in health and nutrition programmes.
• Experience implementing nutrition or food-systems-strengthening programmes.
• Skills in grants management, emergency preparedness, policy and advocacy, and partnership development.
• Fluency in English.
