Action Against Hunger Nigeria is recruiting a Nutrition and Health Programme Manager to oversee the management and implementation of health and nutrition programmes in Maiduguri.
One position is available in Maiduguri and another in Katsina. Applicants will be required to indicate their preferred location during the application.

Main Responsibilities
Manage the complete project cycle for assigned nutrition and health programmes.
Ensure activities comply with donor proposals, contractual requirements and national and international standards.
Develop and update detailed project implementation and operational plans.
Prepare weekly and monthly work plans for programme staff.
Coordinate with government health authorities and State Primary Health Care Development Agencies.
Monitor the quality of services delivered through supported health facilities.
Oversee health and nutrition data-collection systems.
Lead needs assessments, technical assessments and follow-up reporting.
Ensure proper documentation of programme experiences, lessons and good practices.
Identify staff training needs and organise relevant capacity-building activities.
Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and performance assessment of project staff.
Coordinate workload, staff planning and team meetings.
Monitor project budgets, targets, expenditure forecasts and budget follow-up reports.
Contribute to the development of new project proposals.
Represent Action Against Hunger in health and nutrition coordination meetings.
Maintain productive relationships with government authorities, donors, partners and sector actors.
Ensure project databases are current and accurate.
Review facility service-delivery data and provide feedback.
Prepare monthly progress reports, 5W reports and contributions to donor reports.
Promote integration with WASH, food security, livelihoods and mental-health programmes.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health or another relevant field.
Experience in public health and Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition programming.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar programme-management role.
Previous staff and team-management experience.
Strong report-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Fluency in English and Hausa.
Strong communication, planning and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a challenging and unpredictable security environment.
