PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The assignment will provide high-quality statistical, geospatial and policy analyses of the Nigeria MICS7 dataset and, where relevant, integrate it with other national datasets to generate evidence-based insights and knowledge products for decision-making.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Conduct longitudinal and trend analysis of MICS3 to MICS7 data, focusing on child survival, the first 1,000 days and learning.
  • Identify trends, disparities and drivers of child well-being outcomes.
  • Develop methodologies and conceptual frameworks in consultation with UNICEF and the National Bureau of Statistics.
  • Conduct child-focused urban and inequality analysis in four selected urban areas.
  • Build partner capacity through virtual workshops and consultation.
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations, technical reports and summary briefs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Demography, Statistics, Public Health, Data Science or a related field.
  • At least eight years of progressive experience in survey data analysis with a Master’s degree, or five years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated expertise analysing large MICS and/or DHS datasets.
  • Strong experience in regression modelling, geospatial analysis, SDG indicator computation and analytical report writing.
  • English language proficiency.
