Nigeria Gender and Youth Associate (Fixed-term)

ORGANIZATION AND PROGRAMME BACKGROUND

One Acre Fund equips smallholder farmers with agricultural supplies, tree seedlings, credit and agronomic training. Its Nigeria programme serves more than 100,000 farmers through credit, retail and agroforestry activities.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Gender and Youth Associate will lead and implement inclusion strategies that integrate gender equity and youth empowerment into programme operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

RESEARCH AND IMPACT ASSESSMENT

• Analyse the programme’s baseline reach among young people and women.
• Assess the impact of existing activities.
• Recommend approaches for reaching women and young people through traditional and non-traditional channels.
• Establish appropriate methods for monitoring results involving women and youth.

PRODUCT STRATEGY

• Determine which existing products and services are most attractive to women and young people.
• Identify additional products or services that respond to their needs and align with country strategy and available resources.
• Develop and test a product pipeline addressing youth-specific barriers.

MARKETING

• Develop a marketing strategy aimed at young people, with attention to female audiences.
• Coordinate timely execution and maintain accountability among responsible teams.
• Monitor campaign performance and adjust the strategy to improve reach.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sociology, Business or a related field.
• More than five years of experience in gender and youth programmes.
• Background in youth and gender programming is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication.

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Contract: Fixed-term.
• Duration: Two years.
• Duty station: Minna, Niger State.
• Preferred start date: As soon as possible.
