Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supports smallholder farmers by providing quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agricultural training and other services designed to increase farmers’ productivity and income.
One Acre Fund Nigeria was established in 2018 and is headquartered in Minna, Niger State. The programme currently supports more than 100,000 farmers through agricultural inputs, retail services and agroforestry programmes.

JOB SUMMARY
The Chief of Staff will lead the implementation of the Country Director’s strategic agenda and support organisational effectiveness across One Acre Fund Nigeria.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic adviser and operational partner to the Country Director, ensuring that major priorities, high-risk initiatives and cross-functional projects are properly coordinated and successfully implemented.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Support and Leadership
- Serve as the Country Director’s principal strategic adviser.
- Provide analysis, insights and data-driven recommendations on important organisational issues.
- Translate organisational strategies into prioritised and actionable implementation plans.
- Maintain accountability for the Country Director’s strategic agenda and major organisational outcomes.
- Coordinate high-priority initiatives across departments.
- Ensure that resources are appropriately allocated to strategic priorities.
- Conduct research and market or industry analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Identify organisational risks and recommend practical solutions.
Executive Coordination and Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate strategic communication between the Country Director and senior leadership team.
- Ensure that executive decisions, commitments and action points are properly communicated and followed up.
- Support alignment and cooperation among departments and senior managers.
- Manage relationships with high-level external stakeholders.
- Engage major donors, government partners and strategic allies.
- Represent the Country Director during relevant meetings and engagements when required.
- Prepare briefing materials for meetings with partners, government officials and other stakeholders.
High-Impact Project Leadership
- Take full responsibility for special and cross-functional projects assigned by the Country Director.
- Lead projects from strategic planning through implementation and completion.
- Establish clear accountability frameworks for complex projects.
- Coordinate multiple departments and teams working on shared organisational priorities.
- Ensure that project milestones are delivered according to agreed timelines and objectives.
- Monitor organisation-wide progress against strategic priorities.
- Develop and track high-level performance indicators.
- Identify risks, implementation gaps and delays requiring executive attention.
- Recommend corrective actions to improve project delivery.
Organisational Governance and Executive Operations
- Improve the operational efficiency of the Country Director’s office.
- Support the effective prioritisation of the Country Director’s time and responsibilities.
- Develop and quality-check executive reports, presentations and briefing documents.
- Coordinate the preparation of Board and senior leadership meetings.
- Prepare meeting agendas and ensure that important documents are available.
- Track decisions made during executive and governance meetings.
- Ensure that agreed actions are implemented by the responsible teams.
- Maintain systems for monitoring organisational commitments and strategic priorities.
Executive Assistance and Administration
- Screen and prioritise incoming requests, communications and invitations.
- Support the management of the Country Director’s schedule and executive commitments.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and other executive documents.
- Maintain confidential records and information.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Support other administrative and coordination duties required by the Country Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Development Studies or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience combining strategic support, project management and executive operations.
- Experience may have been gained in management consulting, corporate strategy, high-growth business operations, social enterprise or international development.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with senior leadership.
- Proven ability to support strategy development and implementation.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple departments.
- Experience preparing high-level reports, presentations and executive briefing documents.
- Experience engaging government officials, donors, partners and other senior stakeholders.
- Experience monitoring organisational performance and strategic priorities.

- The position is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Nigeria.
