ABOUT NEW INCENTIVES
New Incentives – All Babies Are Equal Initiative works to increase childhood immunisation coverage in Nigeria through caregiver incentives and demand-creation approaches.
JOB SUMMARY
The National Partnership Officer will support national partnership and stakeholder-engagement activities across Nigeria’s routine-immunisation ecosystem. The officer will help establish and maintain productive relationships with government institutions, development partners, INGOs, NGOs and other stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with government officials, partners, INGOs and NGOs.
- Support engagement with NPHCDA, Federal Ministry of Health institutions and state health authorities.
- Participate in technical meetings, workshops, working groups and sector forums.
- Represent New Incentives professionally and communicate its mission and evidence.
- Maintain regular follow-up with priority stakeholders.
Partnership Development
- Identify stakeholders whose priorities align with New Incentives’ programmes.
- Identify and track potential partnership opportunities.
- Conduct stakeholder and partner research.
- Prepare briefs, concept notes, presentations and proposals.
- Coordinate introductory meetings and follow up agreed actions.
- Support responsible sharing of programme learning and field observations.
Stakeholder Intelligence
- Maintain an up-to-date stakeholder database and contact map.
- Track stakeholder priorities, interests and potential areas of cooperation.
- Identify concerns and emerging issues and escalate strategic matters appropriately.
- Document meetings, commitments and follow-up actions.
- Monitor developments in government and the routine-immunisation sector.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration or related field.
- Relevant Master’s degree is advantageous.
- At least five years’ substantive experience in routine immunisation, primary healthcare, public health, health systems strengthening or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience with NPHCDA, particularly the Routine Immunization Working Group.
- Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s RI system and demand creation.
- Experience working with an NGO, development organisation or government institution.
- Experience representing an organisation in external technical meetings.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Must reside in Abuja and be able to travel within Nigeria.
