JOB SUMMARY

UNICEF Nigeria seeks a national or international consultant for a seven-month, home-based assignment to develop its 2028–2032 Strategic Partnerships for Impact and Resource Mobilization Strategy. The strategy will examine public- and private-sector funding opportunities and provide practical targets, governance arrangements and an implementation roadmap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse Nigeria’s partner and funding landscape and identify priority opportunities.
  • Develop value propositions for donors, corporations, philanthropies, IFIs and development finance institutions.
  • Examine innovative financing options, including blended, climate and Islamic finance.
  • Establish multi-year targets, performance indicators, governance arrangements and risk safeguards.
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultations and produce a sequenced resource-mobilization roadmap.
  • Deliver a practical, evidence-based final strategy aligned with UNICEF priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced university degree in finance, development economics, public policy, business administration, international relations, international development or a related field.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization, strategic partnerships, fundraising, business development or development finance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading at least two comparable strategy assignments for international development organizations.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, stakeholder-engagement and strategy-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
