Position Description & Requirements

Care Best Initiative is inviting passionate and qualified individuals to apply for volunteer opportunities across Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina and Kebbi States.

The volunteer programme provides an opportunity for interested applicants to gain practical humanitarian experience, develop relevant professional skills, support vulnerable communities and contribute to the implementation of CBI programmes.

Available Volunteer Areas

Health Volunteer

The volunteer will support community health activities, health awareness sessions, beneficiary mobilisation, health promotion, referrals, activity documentation and other health-related interventions implemented by CBI.

Applicants with qualifications or experience in public health, nursing, community health, health education or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Nutrition Volunteer

The volunteer will support nutrition screening, community mobilisation, nutrition awareness, infant and young child feeding activities, referrals, beneficiary follow-up, data collection and programme reporting.

Applicants with backgrounds in nutrition, food science, public health, community health, nursing or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

WASH Volunteer

The volunteer will support water, sanitation and hygiene activities, including hygiene-promotion sessions, community mobilisation, distribution of hygiene materials, monitoring of WASH facilities and reporting of programme activities.

Applicants with qualifications or experience in environmental health, civil or water engineering, public health, community development or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Protection Volunteer

The volunteer will support protection awareness, community engagement, identification and referral of vulnerable individuals, safe documentation, protection monitoring and other activities designed to protect the rights and dignity of affected populations.

Applicants with backgrounds in sociology, psychology, social work, law, peace studies, gender studies or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Education Volunteer

The volunteer will support education activities, learner mobilisation, classroom or learning-space activities, distribution of educational materials, community engagement, attendance monitoring and documentation.

Applicants with qualifications or experience in education, teaching, social sciences, child development or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Food Security and Livelihoods Volunteer

The volunteer will support beneficiary mobilisation, livelihood training, agricultural activities, distribution of inputs, market-related activities, post-distribution monitoring and programme documentation.

Applicants with backgrounds in agriculture, agricultural economics, economics, business administration, livelihood programming or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Administrative Assistant Volunteer

The volunteer will provide administrative and clerical support, organise documents, maintain records, support meeting arrangements, prepare correspondence, manage basic data and assist with routine office activities.

Applicants with qualifications or experience in business administration, public administration, human resources, office management or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Media Assistant Volunteer

The volunteer will support photography, videography, graphic design, social-media content, documentation of activities, communication materials and visibility for CBI programmes.

Applicants with backgrounds in mass communication, journalism, media studies, graphic design, photography, videography or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

General Requirements

  • Applicants should possess relevant educational qualifications, skills or experience for their selected volunteer area.
  • Applicants should be willing to work respectfully with vulnerable individuals and communities.
  • Applicants should demonstrate integrity, professionalism, teamwork and willingness to learn.
  • Applicants should be able to communicate effectively and follow organisational policies and instructions.
  • Applicants should select the volunteer area that most closely matches their qualifications, experience and career interests.
