Catholic Relief Services is inviting applications from qualified candidates for multiple programme, technical and administrative positions supporting its humanitarian and resilience activities in Plateau State.

Available Positions

Senior Project Officer – Hygiene Promotion

The Senior Project Officer will coordinate hygiene-promotion activities across project communities.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and supervising hygiene-promotion activities.
  • Supporting community mobilisation and behaviour-change communication.
  • Developing hygiene-awareness materials and community messages.
  • Training community volunteers, local committees and partner staff.
  • Monitoring the quality and reach of hygiene-promotion activities.
  • Coordinating with WASH, nutrition, protection and MEAL teams.
  • Preparing technical reports and activity documentation.
  • Promoting community ownership and sustainability.

Senior Project Officer – SWASH

The Senior Project Officer will lead the coordination and implementation of integrated shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene interventions.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Overseeing the construction and rehabilitation of WASH facilities.
  • Supporting water-supply, sanitation and emergency-shelter activities.
  • Ensuring that infrastructure meets approved technical specifications.
  • Monitoring contractors, artisans and field implementation.
  • Supporting safer construction practices.
  • Building the capacity of community structures and government partners.
  • Promoting community participation and ownership.
  • Ensuring compliance with CRS quality and accountability standards.

Senior Project Officer – MEAL

The Senior Project Officer will lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for the project.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and implementing MEAL plans and tools.
  • Coordinating programme data collection, verification and analysis.
  • Supervising data collectors and supporting field monitoring.
  • Conducting data-quality assessments.
  • Preparing dashboards, reports and programme-performance updates.
  • Supporting assessments, surveys, evaluations and learning activities.
  • Maintaining accountability and community-feedback systems.
  • Supporting programme teams to use evidence for decision-making.

Cash and Asset Transfer Officer

The officer will support the implementation and management of cash, voucher and asset-transfer activities.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting beneficiary identification and verification.
  • Coordinating cash, voucher and asset distributions.
  • Working with vendors and financial-service providers.
  • Maintaining accurate beneficiary and distribution records.
  • Supporting the use of digital tools and ICT4D systems.
  • Monitoring post-distribution outcomes.
  • Supporting complaints and feedback mechanisms.
  • Ensuring that transfers follow CRS and donor procedures.

Project Officer – Nutrition

The Project Officer will support the planning, implementation and monitoring of community nutrition activities.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting maternal, infant and young-child nutrition interventions.
  • Mobilising communities for nutrition activities.
  • Coordinating with health facilities, community workers and government partners.
  • Supporting nutrition screening, referrals and follow-up.
  • Monitoring activity quality, coverage and programme indicators.
  • Conducting training and supportive supervision.
  • Preparing activity reports and programme documentation.
  • Integrating nutrition activities with WASH, protection and livelihoods programmes.

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Plateau office.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining office files, correspondence and administrative records.
  • Supporting meetings, workshops and travel arrangements.
  • Managing office supplies and routine service requests.
  • Updating asset and inventory records.
  • Supporting visitors, programme teams and office personnel.
  • Preparing administrative documents and reports.
  • Assisting with logistics and office coordination.
  • Ensuring that records are properly organised and accessible.

General Requirements

Requirements vary by position. Depending on the selected role, applicants may need:

  • A bachelor’s degree, HND or relevant professional qualification.
  • Previous experience in the technical area of the position.
  • NGO, humanitarian or development-sector experience.
  • Strong reporting, documentation and computer skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-engagement abilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, accountability and humanitarian principles.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa.
  • Willingness to travel to project communities within Plateau State.
