Action Against Hunger delivers humanitarian programmes addressing hunger, malnutrition, health, WASH, livelihoods and other needs of crisis-affected communities in Nigeria.

JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Stock Officer will manage medicines and medical commodities at Action Against Hunger’s Base Pharmacy in Katsina. The position will ensure appropriate storage, stock control, inventory management and technical supervision of medical commodities used across supported health facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain medical products according to good storage practices and ACF pharmacy standards.
  • Monitor pharmacy temperature, humidity, hygiene and security requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate storage of cold-chain products, controlled medicines and other sensitive commodities.
  • Record stock movements using stock cards and electronic stock-management tools.
  • Conduct routine inventories and monitor expiry dates, shortages and damaged products.
  • Prepare validated medical orders and accompanying stock-transfer documentation.
  • Support programme teams and supported health facilities on medical stock management.
  • Assist supervisors with analysis of consumption patterns and commodity requirements.
  • Prepare monthly pharmacy reports and maintain complete stock-management records.
  • Support quantitative and qualitative receipt of international medical orders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
  • Minimum two years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical-stock management.
  • Hospital, health-programme, NGO or INGO experience is preferred.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Hausa language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills.
