BOWDI is seeking a qualified, experienced, and dedicated MEAL Manager to lead and strengthen the organization's monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems to ensure effective project implementation, quality reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.

ABOUT BOWDI:

Bridge for Women Development Initiative (formerly Borno Women Development Initiative – BOWDI) is a non-governmental organization committed to empowering women, girls, and vulnerable communities through humanitarian and development interventions.

JOB SUMMARY:

The MEAL Manager will lead and strengthen the organization's monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems to ensure effective project implementation, quality reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's MEAL framework, plans, and tools.
2.Establish and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation systems for projects and programs.
3.Ensure timely collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of project data.
4.Conduct baseline, midline, endline, and other relevant assessments.
5.Strengthen accountability mechanisms, including community feedback and complaints response systems.
6.Ensure data quality, accuracy, integrity, and proper documentation.
7.Coordinate learning activities and promote the use of evidence to improve program performance.
8.Provide technical support and capacity building to project staff on MEAL approaches and tools.
9.Prepare and review high-quality MEAL reports for management and donors.
10.Ensure compliance with donor MEAL requirements and organizational standards.
11.Promote safeguarding, gender equality, inclusion, and ethical data collection practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Bachelor's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field. A master's degree is an added advantage.
2.At least 5 years of relevant experience in MEAL, preferably within humanitarian or development organizations.
3.Proven experience designing and managing MEAL systems for donor-funded projects.
4.Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and reporting.
5.Experience with data collection and analysis tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SPSS, Excel, or Power BI.
6.Excellent report-writing, communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
7.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and vulnerable communities.
8.Knowledge of humanitarian principles, accountability standards, gender sensitivity, and safeguarding.
