Position Description & Requirements
ABOUT ACTION AGAINST HUNGER:
Action Against Hunger implements integrated humanitarian and development programmes in Nigeria, including health, nutrition, WASH, MHPSS, food security and livelihoods and social protection interventions.
JOB SUMMARY:
The MAMI Officer will provide direct technical oversight, clinical quality assurance and field-level implementation support for the MAMI approach, working with health and nutrition teams to improve services for nutritionally at-risk infants under six months and their mothers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide technical oversight and support for implementation of MAMI activities at field level.
2.Support clinical quality assurance and ensure MAMI interventions are delivered according to relevant technical standards.
3.Provide technical guidance and capacity building to health and nutrition staff involved in MAMI programming.
4.Support identification, assessment, management and referral of eligible mothers and infants.
5.Work with programme teams to strengthen integration of MAMI with health and nutrition services.
6.Monitor implementation quality and identify gaps requiring corrective action.
7.Support data collection, documentation, analysis and reporting related to MAMI activities.
8.Participate in programme coordination, learning and technical review activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.Relevant health or nutrition qualification.
2.Relevant experience in health, nutrition or humanitarian programming.
3.Knowledge of maternal, infant and young child nutrition and related health services.
4.Understanding of MAMI approaches and relevant technical standards is an advantage.
5.Strong communication, training and interpersonal skills.
6.Ability to work effectively in field and humanitarian environments.
