JOB SUMMARY

The M&E Officer supports collection, validation, analysis and reporting of health programme data at state, LGA and community levels, with a strong focus on data quality at health facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the M&E Manager with data collection, quality checks and programme reporting.
  • Build the capacity of LGA and health-facility M&E staff to manage data quality.
  • Participate in monthly LGA data-validation meetings and routine facility data-quality assessments.
  • Support quarterly data-quality assessments in primary and secondary health facilities.
  • Review facility data before reporting, document discrepancies and follow corrective action plans through completion.
  • Help collate, analyse and present results at programme review meetings; represent the programme at relevant technical meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline with at least four years' relevant experience; postgraduate training in medical statistics or epidemiology is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian health M&E systems, data-validation tools and DHIS2.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Stata, SPSS or R; mapping software is an advantage.
  • Proven programme data management, written and spoken English, report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure.
