ABOUT TERRE DES HOMMES

Terre des hommes (Tdh) is an independent Swiss organisation supporting children and young people affected by vulnerability. In Nigeria, Tdh implements programmes covering health, WASH, education, protection, migration and access to justice.

JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership for the logistics function of the Nigeria mission. The position is based in Maiduguri and supports programmes and field operations across Tdh intervention locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and implement the mission’s logistics strategy.
  • Ensure logistics systems support programme implementation and humanitarian operations.
  • Oversee procurement and supply-chain processes.
  • Supervise fleet, transport and movement-management systems.
  • Ensure effective management and maintenance of premises, equipment and assets.
  • Oversee IT, telecommunications and related operational infrastructure.
  • Strengthen stock and warehouse-management procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Tdh logistics procedures and donor requirements.
  • Develop logistics planning, budgets and procurement plans.
  • Support programme teams in anticipating operational requirements.
  • Monitor logistics risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting for logistics activities.
  • Manage, coach and develop logistics personnel.
  • Coordinate with headquarters and field teams on procurement, equipment and supply issues.
  • Support emergency preparedness and operational continuity.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant logistics, supply-chain or humanitarian-operations qualification.
  • Significant experience managing logistics in humanitarian/development programmes.
  • Experience with procurement, fleet, assets, stock and facility management.
  • Strong people-management and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex humanitarian and security environment.
  • Previous international NGO experience is highly valuable.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and reporting skills.

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Based in Maiduguri.
  • 12-month contract.
  • Unaccompanied position.
  • Proposed start: 1 December 2026.
  • Recruitment continues until the position is filled.
