ABOUT ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE DE LAGOS
Alliance Française de Lagos is a local nonprofit organisation supported by the Embassy of France in Nigeria. It teaches French to adults and children, serves as a centre for official French examinations and organises activities that promote Nigerian and francophone cultures.
JOB SUMMARY
Alliance Française de Lagos is seeking a Library Intern for a paid, full-time placement at its Ikoyi centre. The opportunity is intended for a candidate who can support the daily organisation and accessibility of library resources while assisting visitors in a professional cultural and learning environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the daily organisation and orderly use of the library space.
- Assist users to locate and access available books, learning materials and cultural resources.
- Help maintain clear records for materials and routine library activities.
- Support basic shelving, filing, labelling and resource-organisation tasks.
- Provide courteous front-line assistance to library visitors.
- Help keep the library welcoming, quiet, tidy and suitable for study and cultural learning.
- Support approved library activities and other related tasks assigned by the centre.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Applicants should meet the education, language and availability requirements stated in the official recruitment announcement.
- Interest in books, learning, culture and public-facing service.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time at the Ikoyi centre.
- Reliability, professionalism and willingness to learn.
- Proximity to Ikoyi and surrounding areas will be prioritised.
